Tweet to Dropbox is a browser extension that lets you paste X or Twitter post URLs or direct media links and upload the resolved media into your own Dropbox account. This page explains what data the extension uses and why.
What data the extension uses
Authentication information: the extension stores Dropbox connection state so it can upload files to the Dropbox account you authorize.
Website content and user-provided links: when you paste an X, Twitter, or direct media URL, the extension fetches the media needed to complete the upload you requested.
Local settings and history: the extension stores your selected Dropbox folder, optional local downloads folder setting, payment entitlement state, and a local history of pasted URLs and uploaded filenames.
Payment information: paid plan access is checked through ExtensionPay. The extension may store whether your plan is active and the email associated with that entitlement when returned by ExtensionPay.
How the data is used
The data above is used only to operate the extension features you request: connecting Dropbox, downloading and uploading media, optionally saving local copies, showing your upload history, and determining whether paid uploads are unlocked.
Data sharing
The extension sends data only to the services needed to complete its single purpose:
Dropbox, to authenticate and upload media into your account
The source media host, such as X or Twitter media endpoints, to fetch the media for a URL you provide
ExtensionPay, to manage purchase and restore of the paid plan
The extension is not designed to sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
Data retention and control
You can disconnect Dropbox from the extension at any time. Local settings and local history remain in the browser profile until you clear extension data or uninstall the extension. Optional local file downloads are stored in your browser Downloads folder if you enable that feature.
